Formal communication is done in writing via email. However, phone calls, text messages, and virtual meetings are also utilized to clarify details.
Additionally, Precision Plans Texas, LLC will meet in-person or on-site as needed.
Format
All shop drawings are provided as 11x17 PDF files unless a different format is requested.
Quotes
Precision Plans Texas, LLC provides shop drawing quotes free of charge.
To generate a quote, we require the following information from the fabricator: 1. The set of construction plans that are being considered for the bid, including any relevant addendums. 2. Identification of all exterior and interior storefront, entrance, and cuttain wall types that are being bid in the project. 3. The details and locations of any miscellaneous glass types relevant to the project, such as: - Pass-through windows - Fire-rated glass for interior wood or metal doors - Trophy cases and glass cabinet doors - Mirrors and shower doors - Glass stair railings - And any other specialty glass applicable to the project

First Submittal
Once the project is awarded, Precision Plans Texas, LLC will request additional detailed information necessary for the project's successful completion. The initial submittal will be prepared based on the information provided at the start of the project. Any adjustments needed to ensure the initial submittal aligns with the bid documents will be made at no additional cost.
Changes to the Original Scope
Any modifications to the original contract documents or requests for additioanl work beyond the initial scope will be billed at an hourly rate.
Anchoring
Hurricane-impact storefronts and curtain walls are designed and tested to comply with Windstorm Standards.
Upon request, anchoring drawings can be provided that meet the requirements of the Product Evaluation Documents issued by the Texas Department of Insurance (TDI), the Dade County Notice of Acceptance (NOA), or the Florida Building Code (FBC).
The anchoring drawings will specify the anchor locations, types, and the spacing necessary for compliance to facilitate construction and inspection.
As-Built Shop Drawings
As-built drawings, if required, will be treated as changes to the original contract and billed at an hourly rate. Red-lined drawings will be required to modify the shop drawings to reflect the as-built conditions of the project.
Engineer's Stamp on Shop Drawings
Structural modifications to the building's structure to accept the engineered storefront, entrance, or curtain wall are the responsibility of the project's structural engineer.
Any specialized engineering design for storefronts, entrances, or curtain walls required for specific applications not covered by the product evaluation documents is not included in the bid provided.
To facilitate the Professional Engineer's Stamp on the drawings, red-lined drawings must be provided by the Professional Engineer hired, so that changes to the drawings can be made. The time spent on modifying the shop drawings to facilitate the stamp will be billed at an hourly rate.
